I AM NOW A CANNONBALL SAXOPHONE
ENDORSING ARTIST *
My Baritone Sax
My Tenor Sax
My Alto Sax
Cannonball Musical Instruments
Mouthpieces:
I use a Berg
Larsen 120/0 mouthpiece on my baritone sax. It is virtually the
same mouthpiece that Doc Kupka of Tower of Power uses (Doc
uses a 130/0).
I use a Berg Larsen 90/0 mouthpiece on my alto sax and I will be
using a
Berg Larsen 95/0 on my tenor sax.
(If it ever gets here - Due to the sheer genious of the people in their
logistics department, it's ONLY been on order from Woodwind/Brasswind
since back in MAY of this year!).
I also use Bobby
Dukoff mouthpieces on my alto, tenor and baritone
saxes. All of mine are D-7 Dukoffs. They are fairly bright
mouthpieces
that are ideal for use in modern rock-style music. The picture
I have
above is not exactly representative of Bobby's mouthpieces;
they are sort of a dull silver color instead of gold.
I also have Runyon
Metal Spoiler Series mouthpieces for all
three of my saxophones. They are quite a bit like Dukoffs with
one
exception: They have a spoiler that can be put inside the mouthpiece
which decreases the amount of air required and drastically increases
the volume of your saxophone. Awesome mouthpieces to say the
least.
Rovner Ligatures
I use Rovner Ligatures
exclusively on 3 of my saxophones.
I get longer life out of my reeds, and it is very seldom I ever
have to cull a reed for being unplayable. Also I like Rovners
because of ease of use. They have one large screw ON TOP of
your mouthpiece instead of 2 little dinky screws on the underside
of your mouthpiece that are difficult to get ahold of. Nice
ligatures!
Reeds:
Rico PlastiCover Reeds
The PlastiCover
Rico Reed is my reed of choice. The are not bothered by moisture
and humidity and are ready to play as soon as you put them on your
mouthpiece -
no more having to pre-wet your reed before you play. They are
ideal for a player
who doubles on multiple saxophones or other reed instruments. I
also get about
twice the life out of a PlastiCover as I get from a normal cane reed.
Rico Royal Reeds
Rico
Royal Reeds are my 2nd choice for a reed if I can't get PlastiCover reeds.
They have a great sound and contrary to the saying that there are
usually only
3 or 4 good reeds out of a box of 10 reeds, I rarely have to cull
a Rico Royal Reed,
as is also the case with the PlastiCover Reeds.
I buy almost all of my sax accessories
from The Woodwind & Brasswind, Inc.
Their prices are consistantly lower than anyone else I've found online,
and
MUCH cheaper than dealing with local music stores. I have
bought ProTec
gigbags/cases for all my saxes there as well as neckstraps and harnesses,
reeds, ect.
Are you hip?
If not, shame on you!
